I completed a B.A. in Latinx & Latin American Studies from Amherst College as a Questbridge National Match Scholar. As an undergraduate, I engaged closely with the first-generation, low-income student community and focused on increasing visibility and support for undocumented students on campus. My research focus stems from my advocacy work and experiences as an undocumented immigrant in higher education. I am interested in exploring how social policies impact undocumented immigrants’ ability to pursue and navigate education at all levels in the United States. I am also interested in examining how certain identities or backgrounds shape educational pathways for undocumented people in relation to disability, gender and sexuality, and race and ethnicity. I aim to make my research accessible to the communities I work with and create a space for them to challenge and complicate academic discourse. In my free time, I love to read, play video games, start arts and crafts projects, and spend time with my cat.
