Brown University Affiliates

The Annenberg Institute at Brown aims to be a hub on campus for multi-disciplinary scholarship connected to education. We invite Brown faculty who engage in research or teaching related to education (writ large) to become an Annenberg Faculty Affiliate. Affiliates will engage in the academic life of the Institute, such as by attending Institute events and seminars, participating in student training, conducting engaged research, participating in partnership research (including in Rhode Island), and building actionable knowledge for the field. 

Annenberg Faculty Affiliates


  • Connected to a large and growing group of multi-disciplinary scholars whose research and teaching bear on critical issues in education policy and practice
  • Featured on the Annenberg website and other communications
  • Invited to participate in Annenberg seminars, programming, and events
  • Eligible to apply for Annenberg faculty research funding
  • Access to grants, contracting, and communications support
  • Ability to include post-doctoral research fellows as part of the Annenberg Post-Doctoral Fellows Program
  • Access to Annenberg professional development programming and supports
  • Opportunity to host an Annenberg Summer Fellows team to support faculty research


  • Participate in the broader Annenberg community as able (e.g., attending relevant lectures, meeting with interested students, speakers, or post-docs, etc.).  
  • Affiliates who receive grant funding have specific expectations (e.g., attending Annenberg programming more regularly)

Apply to be an Annenberg Faculty Affiliate

Brown faculty involved in research or teaching related to education are encouraged to apply for affiliation. Affiliates are featured on the Annenberg Institute website, included in communications efforts (including events and programming), and gain visibility for their work related to education research and practice. Interest forms are reviewed on a rolling basis.
