Postdoctoral Research Associate
Ellen Bryer is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Annenberg Institute at Brown University. A trained sociologist, her research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the relationship between economic inequality and young adults’ educational experiences. Her current research investigates graduate students’ educational pathways and decision making and their implications for social stratification. Ellen holds a Ph.D. in sociology, with a certificate in education sciences, from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in sociology from Smith College. Before beginning her doctoral research, Ellen was a research assistant at a research and evaluation firm and was an Americorps college and career counselor at a Philadelphia high school.
