About the Race and Education Research Initiative

The Race and Education Research Initiative at the Annenberg Institute provides a  space to rethink how we interrogate race and education, and generates rigorous scholarship on the relationship among race, educational policy, and organizational practices. Through community engagement research and innovative, practice-based efforts, this initiative studies racial inequity in education and provides research-based approaches to expanding educational opportunity.

Land Acknowledgement

Brown has developed an official land acknowledgment as part of a set of commitments to build a better understanding of the relationship between the University, the Indigenous peoples of this region, and the land on which Brown is situated.
