Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our public gallery is closed and programs are limited to virtual offerings. Check out how we use the virtual space to keep up engagement with our collections! |

What Lies Beneath: Brown's Archaeologists Uncover the History of Providence and Beyond Archaeologists based at Brown University's Joukowsky Institute will reveal what they have found in our ongoing excavations in Providence, RI - where we have discovered the foundation of a house from the 19th century. Digging around the house's walls and foundation, the team has found bones, cooking tools, nails, bricks, and a huge range of other materials. Brown's archaeologists will also talk about other places they have explored all around the world, and will answer all your questions about the coolest things they've ever found, how they became archaeologists, and anything else you may be wondering about archaeology. Get ready to become an archeologist by checking out these videos first. |

10:00am - 3:00pm | Escape the Haffenreffer! Don’t miss "Escape the Haffenreffer". The virtual escape room game, created by the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology is free and open to everyone. This game was launched in celebration of Anthropology Day. Play the online game yourself or team up with friends (safely) to crack codes, solve puzzles, and Escape the Haffenreffer! The game is designed to take between 45 minutes and one hour. |

10:00am - 10:30am | Glowing Brains: how bioluminescence can illuminate paths of discovery in the brain During this virtual experience, students will learn about “cold light,” the captivating world of bioluminescence, and what researchers at the NSF NeuroNex Bioluminescence Hub do. Participants will have the opportunity to observe bioluminescence in a living organism and a chemiluminescence demonstration. |

Join Visual Art Professor Paul Myoda for a demonstration to learn a method for quickly and accurately sketching the human face from any angle (the Loomis Method). You'll have an opportunity to draw along using either a pencil or pen on any size paper. |

After hearing personal accounts, students will engage in a friendly competition of Kahoot to strut their knowledge on Providence and High School Learning. Finally, the program will end with a Q&A to offer space for questions about STEMS, SAT Prep, and FLIP. |
