Annenberg Institute and Africana Studies Host Screening of Legacy: Apartheid’s Shadow

Legacy event

In partnership with Africana Studies, the Annenberg Institute hosted a screening of filmmaker Tara Erica Moore’s documentary Legacy: Apartheid’s Shadow, bringing together members of the Brown community for an evening of film, conversation, and reflection on the enduring implications of South Africa’s apartheid system.

The event began with a screening of Moore’s documentary, which examines the lasting social and political effects of apartheid and the ways its legacy continues to shape lives and communities.

The evening concluded with a panel discussion featuring John Diamond, Korey Tillman, Tara Erica Moore, Panashe Chigumadzi, and Noliwe Rooks. The panelists reflected on themes raised by the film and explored broader questions about apartheid’s legacy, history, and race.
The conversation offered attendees an opportunity to engage more deeply with the film and consider its implications across historical, educational, and contemporary contexts.
