Mica Pollock is Professor of Education Studies at the University of California, San Diego. She is the award-winning author of multiple books on race and education, including: Colormute: Race Talk Dilemmas in an American School, Schooltalk: Rethinking What We Say About—and To—Students Every Day, Everyday Antiracism: Getting Real About Race in School, and Because of Race: How Americans Debate Harm and Opportunity in Our Schools. Pollock previously taught high school in California and worked in the civil rights field. She spent a decade as a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and received her Ph.D. from Stanford University.
