About the District

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) serves over 54,000 students every year in 136 schools and is the seventh largest school district in California. The school district staffs over 10,000 employees, including teachers, administrators, paraeducators, and school and central office staff. As a single district county, SFUSD is responsible for both the school district and the San Francisco County Office of Education.

As part of SFUSD’s Vision 2025, the district has outlined ten big shifts they hope to make in the next few years, including pursuing a more comprehensive and multidimensional student skillset through its Graduate Profile, personalizing students’ learning, embracing new ways to demonstrate mastery of skills, promoting cultural competence and multilingualism, and attracting top talent to teach district students.
