Using quantitative methods, my research is focused on civic education policy, youth civic development, teacher policy, and curricular reform. I study youth and educators in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia and draw on perspectives across the social sciences. Additionally, I oversee the development of EdInstruments, a library of educational measurement tools funded by the Institute of Education Sciences and the Gates Foundation. Prior to joining the Annenberg Institute, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tübingen. I received a PhD in educational policy from Michigan State University and an MA in education and social policy from New York University.
